Barrel BWP 31
White port barrels bring a distinctive character to whiskey, offering bright fruit, delicate sweetness, and subtle floral complexity. For Barrel BWP 31, our chief alchemist paired those qualities with a mature straight bourbon whiskey, allowing the influence of the cask to complement the spirit rather than overshadow it.
Beginning with an 8-year-old bourbon distilled from a mash bill of 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley, the whiskey was finished in white port barrels before being bottled at 115.82 proof. This release showcases the harmony between rich bourbon character and the lighter, more elegant notes imparted by the finishing cask.
Nose: Delicate florals are accompanied by candied ginger, confectionery sweetness, and crisp white grape.
Palate: Floral notes continue to unfold alongside bright white fruit, gentle baking spice, and hints of citrus zest.
Finish: Toasted oak emerges beneath the fruit, carrying notes of citrus and spice through a finish that is balanced, expressive, and quietly refined.
