Toasted Mizunara Bourbon
Prepare to enter the unknown. Dark Arts Whiskey House is proud to present Mizunara Bourbon, a core expression built around one of the world's most sought-after oak species. Finished with rare toasted Mizunara oak, this whiskey explores new dimensions of flavor while remaining grounded in the character of a carefully crafted bourbon.
Built from a mash bill of 64% corn, 24% rye, and 12% malted barley, the whiskey develops remarkable depth through its interaction with toasted Mizunara oak. The result is a bourbon that balances sweetness, spice, oak, and confectionary notes in a way that is both distinctive and deeply satisfying.
Nose: Butterscotch and sandalwood lead the way alongside toasted oak and dried berries. Notes of vanilla custard and freshly baked bread create warmth and richness from the first pour.
Palate: Layers of snickerdoodle cookies, gingerbread spice, and bright lemon unfold across the tongue. Brown butter yeast rolls, cardamom, nutmeg, vanilla cream, and toasted oak contribute to a rich and evolving profile.
Finish: Sugar cookie dough and warm baking spices linger alongside toasted oak and creamy vanilla. Notes of leather, toffee, and stewed fruit gradually emerge, creating a finish that is long, balanced, and refined.
